Trommel screen how to work:Material feeds into the drum, mateiral is lifted up by the rotation as it falls back down. This action is repeated with each revolution along the length of the drum. The finer material passes through the screen openings while the larger material tumbles towards its eventual exit at the rear of the drum.

A trommel screen, aslo called rotary screen,Trommel is a mechanical screen machine for screening different size materials, Usually used for mining plant and sand plant. It consists of hopper,drum,frame,screen parts.material from hopper flow to drum by gravity,rotation the drum,material rotation in the drum,through the screen,less than screen size material through hole as unersize material,bigger than screen size material will on screen,and will rotation to the end drum as oversize material.normally,undersize material will to next separator machine such as jig machine,sluice box,centrifugal concentrator etc.oversize material will to crushing,or threw away through belt conveyor.

Trommel screens can be used in a variety of applications such as classification of solid waste and recovery of valuable minerals from raw materials. Trommels come in many designs such as concentric screens, series or parallel arrangement and each component has a few configurations. However depending on the application required, trommels have several advantages and limitations over other screening processes such as vibrating screens, grizzly screens, roller screens, curved screens and gyratory screen separators.

Some of the main governing equations for a trommel screen include the screening rate, screening efficiency and residence time of particles in the screen. These equations could be applied in the rough calculation done in initial phases of a design process. However, design is largely based on heuristics. Therefore, design rules are often used in place of the governing equations in the design of a trommel screen. When designing a trommel screen, the main factors affecting the screening efficiency and production rate are the rotational velocity of the drum, mass flow rate of feed particles, size of the drum, and inclination of trommel screen. Depending on desired application of trommel screen, a balance has to be made between the screening efficiency and production rate.

Q;What's the application of trommel screen?
A:Washing alluvial ore or screening gravel.
Q: Is your original ore sticky clay? Or only alluvial/placer sand? 
1) If contain sticky clay ore, more than 30% or not?

Q: Biggest capacity our trommel screen can process?
A: 200-300tph 
Q: How big are the screen mesh size and how many layers? 
A: Usually, our trommel is double layer, the inner screen mesh is 5mm, outer screen mesh is 10mm. But we can customizastion according to your requirements, we will use the Ø25mm diameter round steel to build the inner steel bar, outside screen material is high manganese woven net.
Q: If very small outer screen mesh size, will clogged? 
A: We will add a steel brush onto the drum, so won't be clogged at all. And we use the unique screen mesh design, result in longer screen life & no material clogging. 

 Q: Screen mesh material? 
A: We use high manganese steel to build the screen mesh which is very durable. 

 Q: Can we change the screen mesh?
A: Yes, you can, usually we build the screen mesh to be active, so you can change the screen mesh size by yourself easliy on site. 
Q: Driving mode? 
A: Usually it's electric motor, if you want, we can build it to be diesel engine for driving. Or build it to be diesel generator to provide power for it. 
Q: If i need the complete mineral processing line. Can you help us build it?
